Bodyplasty
(The waist and hips)

What do we mean by "bodyplasty?"
Int he majority of cases abdominoplasty and the accompanying liposuction is suffiscient to result in an attractive, well- proportioned, thinner waist and hip area. Where this is not enough, bodyplasty comes into the picture. To understand this we need to be familiar with different types of obesity. The "apple" and "pear" contours that are not limited only to the abdomen but also involve the trunk, waist, hips. In these cases, abdominoplasty by itself is not enough, the waist and hip areas have to be handeled too.
The question is: What kind of a scar will result? Answer: The bikini-cuts are extended backwards on both sides where they will meet. This is always done under general anesthesia and an overnight stay in the Clinic with observation is necessary. Patients wear elastic pants for 2-3 weeks to allow faster and better healing, sutures are removed after two weeks. During this time patients may do as they please with the exception of heavy physical work. Exercise, mobility are advocated to avoid deep venous thrombosis.
